I haven’t posted a blog in a while and I have to make a decision on whether or not to keep my domain going for another year. It’s a $15 decision that’s been weighing on me like a few extra grams of coffee beans on my scale. But, I wanted to get this out there because I ran into a bunch of Warrior enablers; a group of people who are okay with losing and perhaps a partial reason why the Warriors are who they are.

By now the hiring of 22-year old Kirk Lacob as Director of Basketball Operations has been re-hashed quite a bit. I was initially shocked and appalled by the hiring. Although it wasn’t officially announced, somehow word got out that Joe Lacob hired his son to work in the front office and has been involved since training camp. Larry Riley gave Kirk Lacob the title, perhaps a bit of brown-nosing to his new boss, but nevertheless, Joe Lacob has been adamant that Kirk Lacob is “lowest on the totem pole” in a four-man front office.
Monta – The Man

Sometime middle of last season I wrote a blog about how Monta Ellis needs to be the man by letting Stephen Curry be the man. What I meant by
that was Monta Ellis shouldered too much responsibility, either by Don Nelson’s request, who is now aft, or because Ellis felt the need to do so as he signed a large contract and subsequently missed an entire season to injury. And as a result, his efficiency took a dive and his angst of being a ‘Warriors’ resonated throughout most of last season. (more…)
